Ask the Experts: I’ve been told that I need to clean and then polish my fuel? Why both?
I’ve been told I need to clean and then polish my fuel? Why do I need to do both? Wouldn’t the polisher clean it?
“Technically yes, the polisher would clean your fuel but it’s an expensive way to do it. ”
“We describe the difference between cleaning and polishing with one simple question: Would you polish a dirty car?”
“Of course not.”
“Imagine cleaning your car with this. You’ll get through five rags just removing the dirt and mud. That’s why Turtle Wax also sell detergents – to clean the car so it’s ready for polishing.”
“The same applies to your fuel. A Diesel Defence polishing unit uses very fine filters to make sure clean fuel stays clean. If you feed it dirty fuel it’ll take the dirt out, yes, but you’ll have to throw away lots of clogged and expensive filters in the process.”
“If you get it cleaned first with our ClearTank service you avoid that expense and disruption.”
