Fuel Tank Cleaning

As well as offering a comprehensive fuel cleaning service, IPU also offers Fuel Tank Cleaning when contamination is severe.

Man-entry tank cleaning may be deemed necessary when fuel and tank condition is particularly poor. Simply cleaning the fuel will not be enough to remove all contamination. If you pour a glass of orange juice, and drink the juice, is the glass left completely clean? Or is it covered in residue and pulp?

The principal is the same with fuel tank cleaning. Polishing fuel within a dirty tank will leave contamination present on the tank walls and floor, speeding up the degradation of the clean fuel. In these situations, IPU would recommend a man-entry tank cleaning service.

Fuel is uplifted and polished separately from the tank, and trained operatives will enter the tank to clean it. IPU’s experienced team are highly trained and have completed various qualifications, including confined space to complete man-entry tank cleaning jobs. The team is fully equipped with the necessary equipment, such as breathing apparatus, body harnesses and other PPE as well as gas monitoring equipment to monitor levels in the tank.

The safety of the team is paramount in these situations, and at least two team members are required at all times.
