IPU GROUP LTD SELLS ENGINE STARTING DIVISION TO INTERNATIONAL GROUP
We are pleased to announce that Industrial Power Units Ltd. of the United Kingdom (IPU Group Ltd) has concluded an acquisition to sell its Engine Starting Division to an international group of companies, specialising in various industrial solutions, inclusive of starter technology. The sale is expected to conclude on or around September 1st 2024.

IPU will continue to provide an ever-expanding range of fuel maintenance products, environmental services such as tank and fuel cleaning and emissions gas testing. IPU remain premier distributors for a wide range of global brands including Enovation Controls, Parker Racor Filtration, Baldwin Filters, Senquip remote monitoring solutions and Donaldson Filtration. IPU core markets including power generation, healthcare, NRMM, datacentres and others, will continue to be serviced with the same high levels of customer service and quality.
From August 1st, Matthew Fellows will be appointed as IPU’s Head of UK & Global Sales and we will continue to support our customers and distribution partners as before with the addition of a returning IPU employee to our Sales team, Martyn Roberts, who reports to David Bryce in his capacity as UK Sales Manager. Our internal sales team, sales engineers, engineering and service teams will also continue to provide the excellent service and expertise for which IPU is so well-known.
Following the sale, the Engine Starting division of IPU Ltd will become Powerstart Limited, and will be managed by David Caddick (current Sales and Technical Director of IPU). A familiar team moving over from IPU of highly knowledgeable sales managers and experienced engineers will ensure continuity of our long-time great service and customer relationships. Joining this international group of companies will ensure a focus on supporting our valued customers globally, with Powerstart Ltd being responsible for worldwide sales, technical solutions and support for our global partners. Powerstart Limited will continue to operate from Cygnus Way, West Bromwich for the foreseeable future with no disruption to business.
