Fuel contamination is inevitable for anyone storing diesel. If its left untreated it puts critical services at risk from failure as dirty fuel impacts the reliability of backup power systems. This makes regular testing an essential part of good housekeeping when storing fuel. While IPU can, of course, provide you with a complete DieselCheck fuel testing service, we understand that you may wish to carry out tests according to your own schedule. In this scenario we recommend an IPU Fuel Test Kit as it contains everything you need to conduct tests whenever you choose.
If your organisation operates in a critical or highly contaminated environment where fuel has to be tested every week or you’re in a high-security building where site access is difficult, self-service could be a simpler more cost-effective option. IPU can supply a test kit and training for your staff so you can conduct tests whenever you like.
The IPU Fuel Test kit contains a complete set of tools that allows you to detect water contamination, microbial growth or solid particulate lurking in your tanks. Using the fuel sampler provided you can test fuel at the top, middle and bottom of your tank to get a complete 360-degree view of your diesel.
This fuel test kit also contains a Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) test unit, this is vital for the detection of microbial growth (a.k.a the diesel bug). When bacteria is present it emits ATP, the test unit can detect this and therefore accurately determine the level of microbial activity in a sample of fuel.
The test kit contains:
