IPU make history with largest ever Diesel Defence unit

IPU’s fuel conditioning division enjoyed record-breaking success last month, delivering the largest Diesel Defence fuel polishing system in the company’s history. Built to the customer’s unique specifications, it will be used to safeguard the supply from an island-based power station. The remoteness of the location makes the generator critically important. The island is not connected to a mainland power supply. If the generator fails, the population loses electricity. Distance from the mainland also affects fuel supply. IPU Group are set to run CPD (Continuing Professional Development ) courses after being approved by CIBSE1, the UK’s premier body for promoting and supporting the careers of building services engineers. IPU Group become OFTEC-certified

IPU are delighted to announce that four members of their fuel conditioning team have taken their OFTEC examinations and passed. OFTEC is the industry association that governs the inspection and certification of fuel pipework, storage and pumping systems. Every site that stores diesel needs an annual OFTEC inspection. IPU’s fuel team regularly services generator diesel tanks which are connected to buildings through their pipework infrastructure.
