Can you still use Red Diesel after April 2022?
Are you still able to use Red Diesel after April 2022?
April, 1st 2022
The countdown is on!
With a change to the Red Diesel Rebate Entitlement in April 2022, changes are coming to who can legally use Red Diesel. Soon it will be illegal for some industries to actively buy and use Red Diesel. It will also be illegal for R.D.C.Os to supply Red Diesel to industries that aren’t legally able to use it.
We are actively involved with the HMRC consultation process, so we are best placed to guide you through this change.
Building on our hugely popular series of webinars, there are further updates to the Red Diesel Rebate that are important to cover before the April 2022 deadline.
Sign up to our next webinar, on Thursday 24th February to discuss:
- the latest controversial updates to the legislation
- the impact it will have on businesses
- your next steps
- IPU’s recommendations
As well as covering the industries affected and what red diesel users need to do to prepare, the guide also covers our recommendations for next steps, including:

If you need to switch from Red to an alternative fuel, the first step must always be to establish the existing state of your fuel.Sampling is an inexpensive way of learning the condition of your fuel. That, combined with IPU’s DieselCheck Testing & Analysing Service means you get a fast, accurate and reliable reading. Our detailed reports make recommendations on restoring and maintaining your fuel. |
Every site that stores diesel needs an annual OFTEC inspection.
IPU’s OFTEC inspection services lighten the regulatory and managerial burdens associated with storing fuel. We have a large and experienced team, based in the field, just a phone call away from being on your site. |
Dedicated IPU Fuel Engineers will come to site with our own, purpose-built equipment to clean the fuel.IPU’s fuel cleaning team have a large fleet of cleaning rigs, designed and built in-house by the IPU team.Supported by service co-ordinators & an engineering team, our field team have years of experience cleaning fuel, and we have been to almost every type of site – from the bottom of a basement to the most sensitive site requiring security clearance. |
Even once fuel is cleaned, it is under constant attack from water, microbial and particulate contamination.
Having a fuel polisher that regularly filters will keep fuel in a reliable and stable state. IPU’s wide range of Diesel Defence mobile and fixed on-tank polishers guarantees a unit that will fit your site and application. The new EKO with Kapture fuel polisher is market-leading for flexibility, efficiency, technology and price. |
