March has been a non-stop month for IPU after we secured our largest single engine starting order in our 59 year history.
IPU’s Engine Starting Division was awarded a bumper order for 14 hydraulic starting systems totaling £500,000.
The order comprised of 14 6 x 50 litre hydraulic starting systems with solenoid and foot start valves for ExxonMobil in Malaysia.
The project was completed in less than 3 months, despite the completion of 3 other Engine Starting projects taking place in the busy workshop.
Dave Caddick, IPU’s Engine Starting Divisional Director said: “It’s fantastic to see this kind of order being awarded to IPU. It is a brilliant boost for the West Midlands economy and helps to cement IPU as number one for engine starting. A project like this requires support from across the company and the successful and timely dispatch of the systems is a testament to our hard work“.
IPU provides a complete range of non-electric engine starting systems for diesel engines in generators, fire pumps and other equipment in the oil & gas, mining and marine industries. Our starting systems include: Spring Starting, Air Starting, Hydraulic Starting and Nitrogen Starting.
Our range spans basic starting systems for simple engines to ultra-safe ATEX and class-approved systems for use on ships, offshore platforms and mining vehicles. Our design and engineering expertise matches the demanding space and performance requirements found on drilling rigs, oil platforms and in underground mines.
