How to get the best out of Diesel Defence fuel polishers
You made a great decision by installing a Diesel Defence fuel polisher on your storage tanks. It will protect your diesel and ultimately your engine. To make sure you’re getting the best out of it we’ve put together a recommended maintenance schedule and highlighted some of the systems key programmable features.
Maintenance Schedule for your Diesel Defence
Below is the suggested maintenance schedule for a Diesel Defence fuel polisher. Please keep in mind that if your fuel is frequently contaminated (i.e by poor quality fuel deliveries or damaged storage tanks) the time between the tasks below would need to increase. Functions of the Touchscreen Controller
- Programmable timer – the programmable timer allows you to run the Diesel Defence according to your schedule. For example, you could set the Diesel Defence to run every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday between 9:30 – 16:30.To change the schedule: Start at the home screen => Press PASS => Enter Username & Password => Press UNLOCK => Press MAINT => Press NEXT until the schedule screen appears => Change schedule as required.
- Password protection – your run times and alarm thresholds are protected by a password. After all, you don’t want anyone walking up to the Diesel Defence and changing them. Please note, to change this please contact IPU.
- Operation log – if any stoppages do occur, the operational log keeps a record of run times and causes of unexpected failures. To view the Operation Log: Start at the home screen => Press NEXT.
- Temperature shutdown – the Diesel Defence system can be set to automatically shutdown to avoid damage during temperature extremes.To change the temperature parameters: Start at the home screen => Press PASS => Enter Username & Password => Press UNLOCK => Press MAINT => Input new TEMP SET POINT/TEMP SHUTDOWN value => Press ENTER.
- Clear status display – we recommend that you visually check the Diesel Defence unit as part of your weekly maintenance tasks. It takes just seconds as key performance and status criteria are shown on the home screen. They can even be recorded in your maintenance log without opening the Diesel Defence’s outer case.
- Link Diesel Defence to your BMS – Diesel Defence can also be monitored through your existing Building Management System (BMS). If this is something you would like to do please give our team a call.
