IPU Group is delighted to announce a significant expansion of both manpower and expertise to their Engineering and Manufacturing team.
These roles have been created predominantly to support the Starting and Engine Control areas of the business which have, over the past 12 months, seen a considerable increase in the number of large custom build projects, alongside a growing portfolio of other products built in house at the companies Oldbury premises.
‘John Perkins joins as Project Manager’
John brings to IPU vast experience in Project and Design Engineering. Based within the automotive industry for a long period of his career, John has designed for the Ford Premier Group, Audi, BMW and Lotus cars, to name but a few, where his speciality was design for flexible lightweight vehicle manufacture and metal cold joining technologies.
More recently, John was with a locally based design company where he has worked on contracts as diverse as mobile radar systems for the military, water treatment plants and jet engine washer systems for Rolls Royce.
John will be office based at IPU, and will be heading up the team of Project Engineers working to meet the increased demand for custom built air and hydraulic starting systems.
‘Mick Millard - IPU’s new Electrical Engineer’
Prior to joining IPU, Mick worked in electrical control engineering. With a number of different companies he gained significant knowledge and experience whilst working on controls for a variety of industries including Automotive, HVAC, Foundry and Defence.
His most recent position was with System Design Control as a control panel builder.
Mick will be based at the IPU Head Office and workshop in Oldbury where he will work with the rest of the Engine Controls team to develop and build controls products..
‘Andy Slater named as Workshop Engineer’
Andy studied a BTEC and HNC in Mechanical Engineering before taking his previous position at a local alloy company as a maintenance engineer. Having previously worked for IPU on a temporary contract, he permanently joins the Starting workshop team where he will make an important contribution to the build and test of various custom starting packages, before they are shipped to various locations around the world.
